I've decided to go "themeless" for Ancestor #8. Instead, I'll continue along the line of the Hutcheon family. Helen NEDDRIE (or NIDDRIE) was Gramma T's great-grandmother, and the mother of Alexander Hutcheon (Ancestor #5). I've only found some basic information about her, but I think that with some more research, I'll be able to fill in some of my blanks in the timeline of her life.
Helen was born in 1826, in Garvock, Kincardineshire, Scotland. Her parents were Robert and Helen. Her husband-to-be, David HUTCHEON was already 14 years old when she was born! They married in Garvock on Dec 22, 1845, when Helen was 20, and David 34.
They weren't as quick as some of our ancestors to start their family. They moved to Fordoun, where their first son, William was born in 1849, followed by Alexander in 1851. They had 6 children in all - one every two years.
At some point after 1859, they moved to St. Cyrus, Aberdeenshire, where David died in 1868. Helen was left a widow at the age of 43. In the 1871 census, we see her living with her children, William, Isabella and David Jr, in a Farm House at Woodston Fishing Station, just north of St. Cyrus.

Helen had moved into town by 1901. David Jr was still living with her and supporting them both by working as a delivery driver for the local baker. Helen lived to be 87 years old. She died on January 4, 1912, at Bellevue Cottage in St. Cyrus.
